Hello my name is Molly and I am a food-aholic.
More specifically, a chocoholic.
In 2004, I lost 30 pounds following weight watchers. I had only begun to realize my need to lose a little weight maybe... 15 months before I started weight watchers. I had been in college for three years (the freshman 15 is a myth. Nowadays you gain much more). While looking at some pictures of me with my roommate and other friends, I began to realize - huh, I'm bigger than I thought I was.
For about a year I did a little bit about it. I was getting married that summer, so my current roommate and I spent some time exercising. And rewarding ourselves for walking a mile by eating a cookie - we've all been there right? Just an FYI, walking one mile generally does not equal a cookie. I was a busy college student, getting a surprise root canal, planning a summer wedding, so, let's just say I never got very far.
After the wedding my back went out. After six weeks of (no) recovery I realized that it was time to get serious. We call this the last straw. I did things by myself for a while. My progress was excessively slow - so I joined Weight Watchers. The rest is history. 30 pounds of it.
Until I got pregnant.
I was actually about 10 pounds heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight after my daughter was born. This is not so bad. But several sleep deprived months later, after a battle with diminishing milk supply that ended in weaning I found that I had actually continued to gain weight and was only 6 pounds away from the weight I joined weight watchers at in the first place.
So I went into my leader and cried and kicked my butt into gear and lost 16 pounds in 4 or 5 months. Cool right? Now I am staring at my last 10 pounds (Only 2 to my pre-pregnancy weight, but 10 for myself). I've been staring at them since April. I could say I am the master of maintaining my weight.
But the truth is that they need to come off. So here, in the middle of a move, I've decided it's time to get into gear again. Food journal this week anyone?
