I'm gonna be a supermodel

And everyone
is gonna dress like me
wait and see
when I'm a supermodel

So Miriam has this bib that says:

Future Supermodel

Just about every time I see it I burst into song: "Supermodel" from the movie Clueless
So while this is not really the type of person I would like to showcase to my daughter I can't seem to help but to sing this song. My husband must think I'm a nutcase.

Anyhoo - Parents magazine is having their Cover Model search (http://www.parents.com/modelsearch) and I'm going to submit a picture - because, lets face it, my baby is adorable. So this is your chance to weigh in on which picture by participating in the poll at the right.

Have at it.

Family Update

I am happy to report that Bill started working for Pacific Northwest Medical Supply this week. He's driving/delivering supplies (I think) and it is full-time! After so long of only having money going out out out regularly, it will be nice to be able to pay bills without seeing our "extra" money always depleting. The Forensic Science job search continues. He will be taking an exam for the Washington State Patrol on June 13th. And we have a couple of places to apply for still that all that is really left is to order his official transcripts. No sightings of a nice fat package from EWU yet (the one with a DIPLOMA and two FREE transcripts) although I am thinking this should arrive anytime. Whether or not it comes here or to the Tri-Cities remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, I've been home for two days realizing this is what life will be with a Daddy at work and a Mommy at home (if that continues to be possible). I still have help around here so I can work at Weight Watchers if I want, although both calls this week I was unable to take the work - darn! I made a new *tentative* budget, paid bills, went grocery shopping, did chores, cooked meals, and tried to keep Miriam on a regular schedule.

Miriam and I went into the Doctor on Wednesday and found out that she's gained 6oz in the last week! I took her in because she's been spitting up more since I starting supplementing (a decision made at her 6 month appointment because she wasn't gaining weight very quickly, although keeping up on the height front). But Dr. Balek thinks she is fine. We are going in at the beginning on July to check on her progress, but the formula seems to be helping. She's just as happy as ever. Continues to roll and scoot around the livingroom and ever more tolerant on being on her tummy. I think she gets frustrated without going anywhere though. She has a great love for her fingers, talking, and the TV remote (it must taste good).

I hope you have a nice memorial day weekend - we sure will. What a time to start a job right? With a three day weekend to start off.

Mommy's day recap

Miriam went on her first plane ride last weekend. For mothers day we went to Boise, Idaho. My aunt and uncle set us up at their place like usual. And we had a very nice time with my mom and grandmother.

The plane ride was great, she actually ended up sleeping both ways. I got to spend time with my mom and grandma Sharon met her great-grandbaby. I got to go through some old pictures of my great-grandmothers, who passed away last year. It was a nice weekend.

(maybe I'll forget the macaroni&cheese sauce, cool whip, and freaking PEPSI that my aunt snuck my daughter while I wasn't looking.)

I thought I was going to get some pictures from family members (who had some really good ones) but alas my email box has been empty of them - so I decided it was time to post some of mine.

At least someone needed gardening pants

I'm thinking about changing the name of my blog to "Run Away Screaming"

Just kidding.

This weekend my apartment complex manager decided to set up an apartment "community" parking lot sale. She had all kinds of stuff that former tenants left, so of course everything was <$1 (what does she care, she didn't buy it to begin with . . .) and I think one or two other tenants (besides us) came out to sell. Our two big sellers from last year were selling elsewhere (can't really blame them - hope it went well girls).

Bill was off at a campout in the morning - so I didn't get set up until grandma arrived at 10:30. Bill showed up shortly after and hung out with me to help. We finally sold a few things in the last hour or so. The short of the long is we made $19 in four hours, got really hot, got a sunburn, and took most of our stuff to Goodwill at the end of the day instead of holding out for the second day. On the plus side, one of our fellow tenants MAY come and buy our recliner chair. We're hoping because that would make it a $50 day - and besides, then it would be out of the way.

There is a reason I usually take things to the Goodwill dropoff.

Happy half Birthday!

What a difference a few months makes right?

Miriam at 3 months: Falls asleep on Mommy's shoulder for naps.

Miriam at 6 months: "I know what you are trying to do Mom, you are trying to put me down for a NAP!" (Picks up head and pushes away and looks around the room for something to do)

Miriam at 4 months: Mommy's little helper at the changing table. Doesn't object to getting clothes changed and even picks up legs when mommy says "Up" to put on diaper.

Miriam at 6 months: "Hey! Why are you pulling things over my head?! Waa Waa Waa!"
"Diaper? No way man!" (While flailing legs and trying roll around.)

Miriam at 5 months: "Cool man, I can roll onto my tummy!"

Miriam at 6 months: "Tummy? Get me off of this thing!!! I want to SIT. I know how to SIT. SIT SIT SIT!!"

Today our little bug turns six months old. Weird!! Happy half Birthday buggy boo!

When feeding Miriam you must always have two spoons. One for her, one for you. And you have to switch with her frequently. She likes to try and feed herself.

These are the kind of posts you come back for aren't they?
