Summertime Shred

I know I don't talk about it much, but I am actually employed by Weight Watchers. I love the Momentum Program that was introduced this last December. It's the best plan so far, and I've been doing Weight Watchers for five years (working for three). I've had my ups and downs with them for sure, but I know that it works. So I'm taking my managers suggestion and putting this up:
(If link on picture is having trouble go to www.weightwatchers.com/friendsandfamily) This is for a month free of monthly pass or weight watchers online. This is only good until Monday! So if you are interested, take advantage NOW. Feel free to send me any questions about how it works!

I'll be talking about my own Summertime Shred later.

No this isn't the picture from a week ago. :)

So I ran across this picture today on facebook:
Which actually reminded me of this picture:

Eh - anyway. Couldn't resist the comparion. Although the above picture isn't Kristin Stewart as Bella and the picture of me is TEN YEARS AGO. And a glam shot. Yeah. But there you are.

I'll be giving out Autographs in Forks this month

I really thought I was done talking about this but as things sometimes turn out, I'm not.

The 30 somethings lady I work with watched Twilight with her 13 year old daughter a few weeks ago. At work she says "I'm sure you've heard this before. You know who you look like?" (Nope. Last time someone said that to me I was 17 and they told me Sandra Bullock) "Bella"

I'm sure the other 30 something lady wasn't prepared for how that would launch me into an animated 20 minute conversation about Twilight.

But as for looking like Bella "Um, really?"

In case that wasn't enough, she shows up with the next week with a camera. No joke. Daughter insisted.

Apparently the reaction at home was "Oh my gosh Mom she does look like Bella! That is so lucky!"

I know this is hard to believe, but I'm a little fatter (and I suspect older) then Kristen Stewart. If she dies before they finish the series, maybe I can drop 20 more pounds and hop in?

House Hunting, fun+interesting+totally DRAINING

You asked for more information and here it comes. Turns out that both the houses on my poll are in the same neighborhood. I have NO sense of direction, which I did not know until I left the place I lived for 26 years. I get so turned around here that I just SMILE and NOD. In my defense, we saw them on different days.

So these houses are the same in terms of neighborhood and school district. Just different places in the subdivision. One is a larger house (700 more sq.ft.), the other is a larger yard. They are only 27,000 different in price. One is a foreclosure, one is a short sale. But enough of that HERE:

The above layout was a house we saw as a good investment so to speak. Because it is a foreclosure and an *ahem* extremely good price. Also, if we get stuck here in Georgia for a long time, we could grow into this house. We wouldn't need another one. Of course we knew it was way more house then we currently need and there were some features we were looking for that were missing. Truth be told, all I could think of later was the prophets counsel to live in a modest home. So moving on....

NO comments from the peanut gallery about how I forgot to draw in the kitchen. It sits in the bottom right corner of what is labeled as the Main room. Right next to both "dining rooms" (okay hard to explain, but the extra room totally looks like another dining room). Also on top of THAT next to the laundry (and pantry which is also missing) is the "breakfast area." It is 1900 square feet and, in my opinion, only lacking in closet space. They are around, they could just be bigger. At least there is some storage in the garage. It's one story, a corner lot and has some bright paint and Bamboo wallpaper. Easily remedied.

Since posting my poll we also ran into 4bd/2.5bath house with new carpet and appliances with a really wide staircase (that Miriam loved). We asked for our realtor to look into it for us. There were already 5 offers on the house and the other agent was having trouble getting in touch with the seller. The neighborhood/schools weren't as good so we decided not to get tangled in that mess.

So...we may or may not have made an offer like an hour ago. But I can't talk about that right now, I might break into a cold sweat...

Some things you see everywhere in Georgia

I haven't been to one of these, but they are all over. As well as Game Stop. I think we can get to 3-4 different Game Stops in 10 minutes.

Yeah you are reading that right. D.U.I. And it stands for exactly what you think it stands for. Most of the signs I've seen are big Yellow signs though. Makes you feel super good about the drivers down here. But haven't we talked about this before? 20 over or 10 under all the time?

With the Spring has come the appearance of ant hills the size of my head all over the place. They are all reddish (Georgia clay) and often quite large. Yuck.
Today Miriam stepped on one. We were playing run up the hill and throw ball to mommy. At first I thought she stepped in dog-do. Until I ran up there and saw the ants swarming. She was wimpering a bit, so I picked her up and (ran down the hill) and started brushing ants off her. I didn't get them all off (there wasn't tons, but several) until we were home, they had migrated up her pants. So she had quite a few bites on her feet and right leg. Luckily she seems to be fine. I haven't had to give her any medicine (this time) and the little welts are getting smaller already.
Crud. I'm having second thoughts about this yard business.

*Which by the way, you asked for more inforamation (see poll at right) and you are going to get it. Just not today...

Miriam is 18...months

I'm a dork, I know.

Today we had Miri's 18 month checkup. She is 22pounds 14 ounces (which means we've climbed form 15th-25th percentile for weight! I can't tell the difference, she's still thin) and 33.25 inches long - which puts her at 80th percentile for height. Tall and skinny, every girls dream right?

She also can do all the actions in her eyes, nose, fingers and toes book. So she can clap and wiggle her fingers. Point to her toes, eyes, ears, mouth, tongue, and nose. She also knows where her belly is.

She has added the words "no" and more recently "wow" to her vocabulary

She she added "down" "please" and "sleepy" to her signing vocabulary, which brings us up to 10+ words there. She does some what have a "sign" for "loves" or "hugs." She picks up stuffed animals and gives them a hug and says "Oooooo" She's also do it if she just seeing a stuffed animal she likes or a baby animal. I'll have to get some video of that.

She likes to feed mom and dad with her utensils (how she climbed up in the weight chart when she is busy feeding me her food I will never know).

Has taken a particular liking to her Panda pillow pet. Thanks cousin Coco!

Could color color all day long...as long as mom is coloring too.

Will have to put up pictures soon...
