Let's start here: I refuse to give up my body to pregnancy until I get it back again . . . which is in about 20 pounds. Not that I haven't considered it . . . but then I get no sleep and have a day where I want to lay down for a month (okay, overexaggerating a little). But my weight adventures are a WHOLE OTHER POST. Sorry if I've disappointed you but pregnancy is not the news.
Here's whats been going on:
Miriam got her first tooth on July 15th!
Miriam learned to army crawl.
We went to Tri-Cities for another weekend of SCA stuff, and got to see the new Baron and Baroness put in, very fun.
Jenna got married on Friday - like, it's already over and I couldn't even BE THERE!
Those first two totally could have been our BIG news right? . . . .
No that isn't it.
We've been offered a job! Any guesses as to location? For possible locations look at this post.

Misty Watercolor Memories
NOW DON'T HURT ME FOR NOT POSTING "THE NEWS" BUT I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF TIME (my kid isn't going to sleep so I think I'm going to cave and give her a bath)
Fun game I've seen on two other blogs so here it goes.
Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have - or that you have of me. It doesn't matter if you knew me a lot or a little, anything you remember. Then, if you would like repost these instructions on your blog and see what people remember about you. I'll try and return the favor.
Oops gotta run - we're demanding our bath . . .

I'm still not much closer . . .
Thanks for those of you that voted on my poll - although I have to say - I've been having a hard time deciding and I had hoped for more help, most of you liked Ariana which is the only name I can't actually verify as existing in the middle ages (Tiffany, YOU ROCK! you we're the only person besides Bill and myself to put in for Enneleyn).
What do I mean existing in the middle ages? Who cares about the middle ages?
I DO - when I'm creating an SCA persona - to register my name I have to have some sort of verification of it's existance.
Anyhoo, stay tuned for my official decision on my SCA name, pictures from this weekend and more BIG NEWS at the Cox household . . .

Not a future baby name . . . or is it?**Updated
You know, I knew there might be some questions to the name pronunciation on the poll on the right. Low and behold questions arose so here is my attempt to explain it to you (not remembering the marks that designate different sounds . . . but admit it, you probably don't know them either)
Enneleyn: -En- (as in saying the letter "N" not as in "nnnnnn") -A-(as in about or "ah") -lyn-
en-a-lyn
Galiena: -Gal- -E- (the long e sound or like saying the letter "E") -Na-
gal-e-na (ga-lee-na)
I am also contemplating Gal-e (as in the letter "e")-en(as in the letter "n")-a
gal-ee-en-a
Elena: -Ee- (As in saying the letter "E") -lay- -na-
Ee-lay-na
Ariana: I'm thinking this one is pretty easy, no? ar-ee-an-a
PLEASE PLEASE GO VOTE ON MY POLL NOW! INPUT IS FUN!
**FYI - You can vote for more than one name at a time

Diary of a Job Hunt
Applications in process:
Washington State Patrol Status: passed FS1 test. No word beyond that.
Texas Status: Offered interview. Was planning on going until discovered cost to get there would be 700+ dollars. They have no travel reimbursement and refused to telephone interview. Wasn't an area Bill wants to really work so we felt okay about turning down.
Ohio Status: Never heard
Forensic Immunochemist (Where? I don't remember) Status: Never heard
US Lab (Georgia) Status: Telephone interview on July 3rd. Waiting to hear back.
ATF Chemist (California) Status: apparently not qualified
Special Agent NCIS Status: Just applied yesterday (July 9th)
Applications to complete:
Oregon: Still have to fill out skill questionaire (hello? wasn't that the point of that stinking application form??!!)
FS Trainee - Drug Chemistry (Illinois), not started yet, due July 18th
Maybe this doesn't look like a lot to you, but DANG some of these are quite a bit of work!

Miriam VS Blueberry Muffin
I'm not sure what I expected to happen or why I thought this was so funny, but it WAS. I gave Miriam a muffin. She held it and passed it from hand to hand. I set her up on the couch vaccumed my living and dining room (if you've been here you know how small that is) frequently looking at Miriam to make sure she wasn't trying to roll off the couch. But then I turned around and she was actually eating the muffin (usually she just destroys such things) so I decided to go, you know, man the "no choking" station. But I really couldn't resist the camera as she made her Miriam the destroyer sound and attacked that muffin . . .
Anyway, that muffin never had a chance . . .

Happy Fourth of July!
Well, our fourth of July was awesome. We . . . wait what did we DO all day?? Oh yeah, we hung out together and went to a MOVIE - that's right. . . a movie. Wall-E, which was both cute and thought provoking. We then went to our BFF's the Kearns, who live in Airway Heights -the only place in this area that allows fireworks. We missed Brenda a ton - she had to work which should be illegal on the fourth of July. The rest of us headed down to the park with the children. It was insane. As Joe said, it's like walking through a war zone. The park was totally crowded, fireworks going off everywhere. We lasted a while until it really got smoky and loud (not to mention late for my poor little gal) when we headed back to the house, where Miriam passed out on my shoulder at about 9:30.

earplugs . . . worth a shot right?

Ye Merry Greenwood 2008 Pictures!
Miriam being held by Daddy and loved on by everyone - espeically Ulrik (or is he being Dominic??)
I told you they beat on eachother with sticks. . . sort of. This is Bill (Arawn) fighting Sir Styrkarr, who is the new Baron of Wastekeep
Arawn suffering a spectacular death
Our friend Laurie. We're missing her little girl, Sierra. They couldn't make it this year so we came to them.
Miriam was really good at throwing juice at Guz, by yanking the straw away from MomTuesday, July 1, 2008
Ye Merry Greenwood 2008
Almost every year that we've been married we've taken the (increasingly expensive) trip to the Tri-Cities during the last weekend of June to (ahem, visit family ) attend the Renaissance Fair in Richland. The first year I was there was great - I worked in the Spitting Duck (which is a big fundraiser for the SCA in that area), watched the live action chess game and made my first Midieval dress purchase (the one I was wearing was made for me - and I was considerably lighter nearly 6months later). The last couple of years have each had their own highlight but things seemed to be going a little bit downhill - until this year. No, the live action chess and copper bowl spinner have not returned, and yes, it was OVER 100 degrees outside, but the Duck was one of only two food booths, plus there where some fabulous clothing vendors - we even got a dress for Miriam's toddler years. Our Wastekeep friends had a ball will little Miriam and Bill got to beat on other men with sticks.
