This post HERE is pretty funny. Followed up by this post. While I have to laugh - because I don't have a thing, I certainly have several things about my body that I refuse to disclose to you. I suppose they could be my thing if I let them. Now if you haven't taken time to read the links - sorry - there are just no words to describe the conversation going on over there. Except for maybe . . . hahahahahaha. At least for me.
You guessed it, this post is really just about MY writers block. I have nothing more interesting to tell you other than - go check out Not That You Asked's latest posts.
While we are on the subject, do you have an embarrassing moment from your childhood/adolensence? At the moment all I can think of is the day in sixth grade that I wore white shorts to school (You think you know where this is going don't you?). Was it my teacher or my friend (which is worse anyway?) that asked me if I was on my period (I was NOT) because of the reddish/brown STUFF that was all over my bum? And how many people must have seen that before someone SAID ANYTHING??

A Runners Tale
Once upon a time there was a girl who drastically needed to reshape her image about her own body.
For not the first time she decided to try running. For the very first time - she felt good after running (I know, strange right?).
Two days into this new running thing, she got a cold.
Looks like she shouldn't be running.
The End.

6 month milestones
So it is a little early for these - but I thought I would give you quick look at our progession. This is just a few of the bullets in What to Expect
What the book says: By six months, your baby will probably be able to sit without support.
What Miriam does: Started sitting alone at the end of March. She's progressed to looking around and reaching every which way for toys around her. Cool beans. That doesn't mean that we don't have the occasional face plant or backward head bonk.
What the book says: By six months, your baby may possibly be able to pass a cube or other object from one hand to the other.
What Miriam does: Check - as of a month or so ago.
What the book says: By six months, your baby may possibly be able to babble (ga-ga-ga, ba-ba-ba)
What Miriam does: Razz. Daddy is determined to introduce da-da-da first.
What the book says: By six months, your baby may possibly be able to object if you try to take a toy away
What Miriam does: Drops a toy (or maybe mom takes it while trying to finagle baby into car seat . . .) and then SCREAMS BLOODY MURDER.

Ummm . . .
I may or may not have eaten 4 cookies today . . .
In other news:
This really spins my top.
Well it is official. I am considered unfit to be a weight watchers leader. I don't have the talents necessary to be "one of the best." From what I can tell from the survey I just took, what that means is I am not extroverted/enthusiastic/motivating enough. Based on a survey. Excuse me? What ever happened to good old interviewing? No I don't even get an interview based on my gallup poll, which said what? I'm not willing to dance around a meeting room pushing their products for only minimum wage? Well they are right!!! I'm feeling a bit better about it now. I should be focusing on my own weight loss anyway. Weight Watchers totally works, but they are surely turning into a "business." And I would have been a dang fine leader . . . jerks.

Dear Jenna
Re: Labor
Jenna - you are probably wondering where I went (Actually you are kinda busy and could care less - but I am going to pretend . . .).
So I've thought and thought about this topic and have come to the conclusion that I can't tell you anything better then when you were asking me questions back in November - when I was only a few weeks postpartum. If you missed it - the story of Miriam's birth can be found here.
Here are the things I did want you to know: If at any time during pregnancy you are reading/watching something that is totally freaking you out . . . STOP. Return to it later if you want to. It's one thing to be informed and prepared - it's quite another to be scared out of your mind.
I totally recommend a birthing class (even though I only got 2 of 5 in). I think I learned Lamaze breathing in mine. It may not be this way for everyone - but as I was moving into transition and they were making me sit still for my IV/epidural - it helped me. Not that I had much choice (oh and PS if you are nuts and want to try Bradley natural birth, make sure you get into a class around 5 mo. It's a 12 week course).
Anyone else have labor tips?

So they all rolled over - For the Grandparents part III
I love having a webcam sometimes. Lately I capture video and try and shorten it to put up and THE SOUND IS ALWAYS IN THE WRONG PLACE. It is driving me crazy. Because really, who wants to wait for a three minute video to load when you can cut it down to 45 seconds?? Hmm - well.
Monday I went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to do laundry. Their livingroom is quite a bit larger than mine so I could get down on the floor (it's not all cluttered with baby items) and show Miriam how to roll over. She would watch me and then try so hard to roll over. Very cute. So three days later she did it. She can now roll onto her tummy. She's never been too big on the tummy time but now is a bit more tolerant of playing on her tummy than ever before. Still, she gets upset when she can't get BACK onto her back.
We also had our first vegetable this week. Peas - yum yum. Vote on which vegetable we should try next on the sidebar of this blog or on Miriam's site.
Here it is the three minute video (hint -fun part probably the last 30 seconds)

Snacktime
So - In case you didn't know, I am totally a stress eater (boardom eater, happy eater, eater, eater, eater).
I have this sign in my kitchen that says:
Nothing tastes as good as reaching your GOALS feels.
Goals as in NOT having to buy a bunch of new summer clothes I don't have money for (I have a ways to go - I was pretty skinny a couple years ago).
It turns out though that Cherry Cordial snacks from Little Debbie DO, in fact, taste as good as my size small shirt. Especially when I am tired and a little stressed. Just one snack tastes good. Two snacks taste like guilt.
Now back to the real world where I am on Core with Weight Watchers.
But I am digging this new positive thinking I've got going on.

Giggling Guests - Oregon Trip part II
As nice of a time as I had at Grandma Coxs' house, I was ready to move onto my dad's house the next Monday. I was ready to get away from the wall of "death" (sharpest popcorn wall I've ever slept next to. I scraped myself three times!!) and to be on the ending portion of our journey.
Three day, four night stay at hotel Dede-Jeff, as Bill would say. It was nice, we celebrated my dad's big 5-0, watched a lot of Planet Earth, took a couple of walks down by the river. The first night we were there Miriam slept through the night as mentioned in this post. You always know it's just a fluke but can't help but hope maybe it will be repeated. Nope.
I forgot to mention - there were a few baby "firsts" on this journey. Miriam sat up without support for the first time at grandma Coxs'. A feat she is now repeating with ever increasing gusto. We gave her rice cereal for the first time. We had our first big giggle fest. I've been trying to figure out what she thinks is funny. This was apparently it. (See video below) Another not repeated event. At least Dede was there with a camera. If I can make a baby laugh I usually laugh until I cry myself. Don't worry, you can still hear her.
