Little Help ** Updated

Quick question. Normally I would have posted this earlier, with a longer story of:

See Miriam was walking around the Weight Watchers meeting room Tuesday night, being very good, but when we left her feet were black!!
I have some very cute shoes from Wal-Mart, with a couple of problems . . . (1) most are size 4 and therefore packed (2) she kicks off most shoes without ties or good straps (3) the tennis shoes I have out are apparently too small

I need a short and a long term solution here. Where do you get baby shoes - the fitted, leather-soled bottom kind, with straps that fit like a second skin but still protect feet. Where would you go say TODAY if you needed them. And then, where would you go if you had time to order?

Anyone?, because I hate to have to worry about Miriam walking around Sacajawea State park this weekend with no shoes.

** Miriam's feet are officially a size 4 now (we really thought we would be gone by now . . .) I took her into a shoe store to get measured. This particular store didn't have any good shoes.

Basket Case

I've decided Shopko is my new favorite store. How long has Shopko been overshadowed by Target (at least in my mind)? But no MORE! I got some of my favorite maternity clothes there - including my favorite jeans AND they have maternity clothes on regular 40% off sales. We went there the other day so I could get new jeans and I was looking around other departments(aka: baby) and found a BROWN and PINK pack and play (totally would have loved that! Of course the one I have is more gender neutral) and the bedding set that goes with the ladybug blanket found in the picture below.

My Mom said Babies R Us was usually out of this bedding set - but it was at Shopko plus CHEAPER. Not that I minded so much before, but if I had only known I would call my daughter snug bug. . . .sigh
On the way to find Bill in Electronics I also ran into isle after isle of BASKETS! Wow, I was so thrilled - wicker type baskets in ALL colors, with and without liners, all sizes - like 3 or 4 isles of them!! I was already planning what to get and where to put it when we have a little money and hopefully a house. We also found a DVD/CD case that has doors and locks (keep little Miriam buggy out of there) the cutest "breakfast nook" table and . . . the way they won me over forever. . . they carry JELLY BELLYS!

Whew - so now you know I am a basket case for Shopko. Not that Target isn't great now . . . but I will not underestimate Shopko ever again.
(I know I'm a big dork)

Picture Perfect

Saturday was a special day it's the day we took baby on her first big outing. We went and got pictures done at JC Pennys. First let me say - I don't know how parents are supposed to pick poses when your child is just so darn cute!
Getting pictures done was one of the most fun things (I personally think) we have done as parents so far. Of course we've only been parents for a month. We put her in a cute Christmas outfit (not so fun seeing as she hates being dressed and undressed) and headed out to the mall. She was asleep when we got there. First we went to Teddy Bear Junction and picked out a terry cloth bunny for her (Teddy Bear Junction is a bit of a tradition of mine and Bill's. Usually we go on Valentines Day). Then we got to Pennys right on time. Baby Cox was cozy cozy and fast asleep. I thought for sure she would wake up and be upset with being moved around and posed so much. But she slept through the photographers flashes and various ways of messing with her. She would stretch and grunt but not wake up. It was very cute.
Then there was the moment baby let out a huge fart when the photographer was moving her. The gal seriously jumped. Not only that but earlier in the day mommy got a fart + lots of baby poop running down baby's leg and onto everything - including mommy. All three of us (me, bill, and my mom) were wondering if we were in for another poop fountain - seeing as baby was positioned on loads of WHITE tulling. Gee I hope they have backup supplies. However we got lucky.
Baby Cox did wake up after mommy trekked to the changing station in the mall (hello JC Penny - where was your changing table? We had to make quite a trek back into the mall just for a stinking diaper change. And then trek back to finish our pictures) and we got some cute shots awake. Even a little smile. She was such a good baby. And those pictures were so cute. Wow was that fun. We'll pick them up on the 20th - just in time for Christmas!
The only other little mishap? Mom and Dad forgot their coupon! Whoops. And got suckered into the portrait club - but hey - free sitting fees.
Pictures coming soon!
