Back in the Blogosphere

For the last two months I completely dropped off the blogosphere.  Most post ideas went as fast as they came and the truth was, I was just VERY BUSY.

In early September my husband returned from Afganistan.  We kept very busy with eachother, with recreational activities (getting ready for recreational activities = one full week of sewing period clothing) and finally a big trip out west.

It was wonderful and we drove a LOT.  But we saw Grandma's and Grandpa's (aka parents) and cousins and friends.  We climbed to the top of Multnomah Falls and went climbing at an indoor Rock Wall with my former boss.  Laser Tag for our friends birthday and a train ride to North Dakota for my Great Grandma's birthday.  All awesome.

At home one or the other of us has been sick since mid October.  I haven't felt like doing ANYTHING.  Still, as long as I recover this week, we'll be past it now.

At church I got called into Young Womens.  I am a Laurel Advisor (in other words I teach 16-18 year olds 3 Sundays a month).  I've only done one lesson, but I really enjoyed it!  I really like them!  Today's lesson was not by me, but was about Gratitude.  I am very grateful for young womens, my family, my health and my home.  And that is really just the beginning!

We celebrated my little girls birthday this weekend!  I can't believe that our baby is 3 years old!  She is amazing and fun.  She learns quickly, she is stubborn and she likes things just so.  She loves to play and she is creative.  She amazes us every single day!

Blessing

We had immunizations today, and maybe I'm crazy, sitting here working on a blog when my little angel is asleep, but I really wanted to post some pictures! Miriam looks great, fabulously healthy. No news to report there. I was looking at newborn pictures and can't believe how much she has already grown. She is 11pounds 12ounces and 22 inches long, head circumference of 36cm. She got poked and had a somewhat delayed reaction but then wasted no time in telling us that shots are no fun. The good news: although there are five vaccinations she only had two shots. One of the shots was a combination of three vaccinations. For those of you that are counting you know what the BAD news is. They were out of the Hib vaccination, which means we'll have to go back for another shot in a week or so.

Mirims baby blessing was Sunday, we had a lot of Bill's family here and some of mine. What a wonderful time I had. The blessing was beautiful. Although, I was totally exhausted by the time everyone left at four pm.

In other news I go back to work for WW tomorrow night . . . should only be 2-3 hours, I'm just feeling . . . mixed emotions. What timing eh? Let's hope there are no complications with the vaccines. I know daddy will do a great job at home with Miriam.

Finally the pictures :)

My handsome family!

It's all about attitude . . .I guess

Yesterday we took baby Cox to Church for the first time. She hadn't had the best night. Another - it's 2am - I guess I'll stop crying and sleep type of night. At around 8 am (church at 9) we decided we both had things to do there, so we should get up and go. I started off by feeding the baby. Things continuted to go well - I mean - heck - I got to take a shower. But that was the end of my good feelings.
While the baby stayed asleep, I went looking for a dress to wear. I could not find my strechy black skirt. It's way too cold to wear anything but a long skirt and I only could find one other -pre-pregnancy skirt. Review - I just had a baby. I am flabby around the middle. I didn't think I would be able to zip the skirt up. I did manage to zip it up all the way. I learned, like so many weight watchers before me - just because you can zip it up - doesn't mean it fits. I wasn't looking forward to sitting in meetings for THREE HOURS with my stomach hanging over the waist of my skirt. We needed to leave and I hadn't eaten yet. I'm a nursing mother. You don't NOT eat. It was snowing and cold. And what do you know, we were late. I figured by the time we got there, she would be awake and hungry and I would have to go the *gasp* dreaded nursing room. I thought- I don't think I ever want to try to go to church again.
So - we were late. But Bill is a good driver in the bad weather. I ate some fruit on the way to church. My skirt acted like a control top and people thought I looked great. She slept through the first hour and a half and ate through the second. The women in the nursing room were nice about the fact that I don't cover up with a blanket. All in all it really wasn't too bad and maybe just maybe we'll try this church outing thing again.
