I have a gun and know how to use it...sort of

So - thanks for your comments and sympathy on our family being materially molested by modern day hustlers. "Modern day hustlers" meaning - they didn't rip off an ounce of jewelry - it was all electronic. A collection which we had built up over the last 5 years; camera, laptop, Wii, TV, etc.

I'm not concerned about putting that up on the Internet because guess what? Its all gone! We're estimating the damage around 4600 dollars (original cost)at this point. Renters insurance for the last 5 1/2 years is about to pay off! (Oh after we prove ownership of all the things that were stolen. Don't get me started)

I'm really glad I wasn't here because that would have been extremely frightening. Not that there aren't forms of protection around here, but they broke into the room that contains the form of protection I would've been most interested in. And I'm not sure I could unlock it, put it together and load it, let alone hit a target anyway.

Turns out my next door neighbor was ripped off too, which I just hadn't been told. HIS television was large enough that they couldn't take it with them (which makes me laugh). Not that they didn't try.

Apparently it may have been some people in a purple Jeep that have been seen around ripping off other communities (I think that's what Bill said). So, um, if I see a purple Jeep anywhere NEAR HERE do you think I can convince the police to come and check it out RIGHT NOW?

  1. Oh goodness, how horrible! Doesn't it make you feel um....vulnerable? I can't even remember what it was at the moment, but something had happen that just was not nice for a person to do. I felt really vulnerable and scared for awhile. Felt like "am I really safe?". I'm glad you weren't home too! Where were you?

  2. I was in Oregon and Arizona the last two weeks. Yeah it puts you on your guard. Our apartment complex has an alarm system, and we remember to put it on frequently. But again, I was gone, and Bill is used to me being home so... Our neighbors didn't have theirs on either. We didn't lose anything important. I still found myself thinking "Come ON. I just bought My SIMS Kingdom (when the price came down at Costco) and they had to go and take it!" :P
