Just a quick note to say that I got a new calling at church today.
I am the Enrichment Counselor for Relief Society.
So, sure I thought that was great - when that was what they put forth to me last week as a calling. I'll take "2nd counselor in relief society" over "nursery leader" any day (Until I've actually served in Nursery, maybe then I'll change my mind). We all have favorite callings and callings that frighten us out of our mind right?
It's making me miss my ward back home though. This ward is considerably . . . older, for lack of a better word. They're hoping I bring some energy in I think.
So, let's hear it what was your favorite enrichment activity and what would you want to see as an enrichment activity?
Good Luck!! I think the worst calling I ever had was 4th Sunday teacher in Relief Society. I'll take Nursery Leader over that any day. I totally get what you mean by older Relief Society so is ours, I actually went to an enrichement activity a few weeks ago, I think I was like probably one of the youngest there. Though they are all pretty nice. LOL Anyway Good Luck and Have fun!! Miss you guys!

ReplyDeleteI bet you've already done this, but I really like our service auction. Everyone offers a service and writes it down on a 3 X 5 with their name and phone number. All the sisters have an opportunity to earn tootsie rolls or something like that by answering questions or doing a get-to-know you survey. Basically they exchange their tootsie rolls in an auction for the service they desire.
I have a feeling I didn't explain that well...but that's the basic idea! Merry Christmas! We have been too disorganized to get out a card this year, but we love you just the same!
