So we are doing a series called Georgia Transplants on our blog. So far Rachel has written both posts. My only idea so far has not been shot down exactly...but kindly rebuffed. So you get to read it instead. Well, the quick version anyway.
Georgia Transplants - Traffic
So you can laugh at me all you want, maybe I'm just a small town bumkin, having lived in Cheney for eight years before I moved to Georgia and all, but this is what I/we noticed about traffic when we moved here.
- Don't you guys believe in street lamps??
- Don't you believe in speed limit signs? (This one has gotten better)
- Everyone here drives either 20 over or 10 under. Don't think you are going to go the speed limit on the freeway through Atlanta, you would be a danger to others.
- WHERE is the street sign? And how am I supposed to know where to go without one? Oh wait...there it is, but I can't read it until I'm passing it
- Also Mt Zion Pkwy, Mt Zion Rd, Mt Zion Circle, Mt Zion Blvd...maybe you could put those in separate corners of the city...instead of right next to each other/crossing each other.
- Turn left is ________ Rd, but turn right is an entirely different (named) Rd. This happens all over the place.
Bill...am I missing anything??
